Sing to Baba with the Sunrise

Enter the Baba Temple as the sun rises… Smell the incense and feel the mountain air and morning sun flowing through the door with you as you enter. Soon, you will hear the bell, and the singing. Join the Divine Mother Center for morning ritual with Baba. Every morning begins with a holy bath, or Abishek, “…a process to wash away negativity, refresh your soul energy and brighten your mood.” Next, experience the Aararthi, a holy flame ceremony, followed by Baba’s Stotram, the devotional singing of the 108 Names of Shirdi Baba. Now, sit back, get comfortable, and prepare to transport to another time and place as you listen to Monika of Penukonda tell the story of Baba’s life and miracles from The Sai Satcharitra. As you listen to The Sai Satcharitra, you will find your own life’s story is deeply connected to the story of Shirdi Sai Baba’s life. Start your day with Baba!

Aarathi… Complete Love

Also known as the ‘ceremony of light’, an aarathi with Shirdi Sai Baba involves moving a flame before Baba’s picture or murthi (statue) to infuse the fire with Baba’s love, energy and blessings. A holy flame ritual.

The aarathi is an expression of complete devotion to and love for God. Sung with deepest reverence and adoration, the aarathi inspires awareness and connection to the Divine. In Sanskrit, the word ‘aarathi’ is composed of the prefix ‘aa’, meaning complete, and ‘rathi’, meaning love. Complete love. And so it is!
